It’s the age-old dilemma: you’re dressed for a day at the office but have a fun night out planned, whether it’s a fancy date, cocktails with your girlfriends, or even a delicious dinner with your significant other.

Time is now a precious commodity – we never seem to have enough of it! Many women often find themselves rushing out of the office to pursue their evening plans, with no time in between to change their outfit for a suitable ‘night out’ look.

Thankfully, there is a way around this, as it isn’t difficult to dress for both  – you just need to know how.

The following tips and tricks will teach you exactly how you can take your outfit from day to night…the easy way!

The Little Black Dress:

There’s a reason why the little black dress (or LBD) is often heralded as every woman’s must-have item. Not only can it be accessorized with any color, style, or print, but it also has an understated glamour which can be both dressed-up and dressed-down.

Our Rebecca Sheath Dress in Ambassador Crepe is perfect for corporate wear as it is impeccably tailored to flatter any figure, whilst still remaining modest in a knee-skimming length. This dress can easily be transformed into an outfit appropriate for evening wear simply by adding statement pieces such as a jeweled necklace, metallic jacket (like our Celeste Cardigan in Shimmer Twill) or sequined clutch.

The Versatile Jacket:

The trick to choosing a jacket which can be worn either in the office or on the town is simple – choose a style which is appropriate for your workplace but also stylish and on-trend so that it will fit right in at a fancy restaurant or bar.

Some of these styles include the Celeste Cardigan in Paramount Knit, the Oprah Car Coat in Ambassador Crepe (pictured), the Shirley Cardigan in Paramount Knit, and the Tessa Jacket in Chateau Tweed (pictured).

If you feel as though any of these jackets need additional jazzing-up, you can also add a scarf in a vibrant shade for eye-catching allure, or even one in a neutral shade to keep it simple yet chic.

The Stylish Skirt:

Skirts also follow a similar rule of thumb as jackets. The trick is to choose a modest style that is appropriate for work wear, but also contains an additional element to keep it looking on-trend beyond the 9-5.

Such a skirt would be our Ramy Skirt with Faux Leather Detail (pictured). This sophisticated pencil skirt looks both professional and stylish in the office when worn with a crisp white blouse and can easily be transformed into evening wear when teamed with a bohemian-style clutch or leather-inspired garments (just like our Shakira Jean Jacket).

Sleek Pants:

Every woman should own a pair of flattering and fashionable black pants (like our Autumn Pant in Bliss Twill and Autumn Pant in Estate Sateen pictured above), as they’re one of the most versatile garments you can own. Black pants have been an office staple for many years now, but did you know that they can also look sleek and stylish in just about any setting?

Wear with a colored jacket (such as our Shakira Jean Jacket in Blossom Twill) when catching up with the girls for after-work cocktails, or simply team them with gold garments (for example, our Clara Shirt Jacket in Shimmer Twill) for a look that screams ‘sophisticated dinner party’.

When tailored pants are worn with heels they also look incredibly chic, so if you’re someone who normally wears heels in your corporate environment, then you’re halfway to perfecting your night-time look already!

There you have it! Dressing for both work and play need not be stressful, as these tips will ensure that you can now easily and quickly take your office look into the late hours of the night whilst still looking chic and on-trend.
